Support Sgt. Mark Swiniarski and Diesel’s Road to Recovery

Hi, my name is Nick and I have setup this fundraiser account for Sgt. Mark Swiniarski and His Family on the Road to Recovery after being run over by a car.

Dear friends, colleagues, and community members,

We are reaching out to you today to share the story of Sgt. Mark Swiniarski from the Essex County Sheriff's Department and his beloved dog Diesel. On July 14th, tragedy struck when a car hopped the curb, striking Mark and Diesel during their afternoon walk. The impact was devastating, leaving both Mark and Diesel with severe injuries.

Mark, a dedicated and respected veteran of over 20 years in law enforcement, sustained a broken femur, brain bleed, femoral neck fracture and two fractures to his scapula. Diesel, his loyal canine companion, suffered a broken paw. Both underwent extensive surgeries and are now on the long road to recovery.

Unfortunately, Mark's injuries will keep him out of work for an undetermined amount of time. As the sole income provider for his wife and three children, aged 21, 19, and 16 (two of whom are in college), the financial strain on the family is immense. Mark's leadership and dedication to his fellow officers will be sorely missed during his absence.

We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to rally support and raise funds to help alleviate the financial burden that Mark and his family are currently facing. Our goal is to provide them with some peace of mind and one less thing to worry about as they navigate the challenging path to recovery.
