On Saturday December 30th, a fire broke out in my parents' home. We, the Padillas, are a longtime San Francisco resident and immigrant family. Your support will help my parents rebuild, and support the cost of medical bills resulting from the fire.

In an effort to save their home my mom (Lucia) and my dad (Carlos) suffered from burns and smoke inhalation, before the SF Fire Department came.

To make matters worse, while they were away for the night receiving medical care and support from their children, their home was broken into and brutally ransacked. In short, everything they own is gone or destroyed.

My parents have lived in San Francisco for most of their lives. Their children were born and raised in the Mission District. My parents still live here, despite heavy gentrification and displacement. My dad is a hard-working union carpenter, only three years away from retirement. This fire and subsequent robbery is absolutely devastating.

Your generous giving will help my parents get back on their feet, and help pay for any additional medical needs for them, my siblings and 3-year-old nephew, who were in the home during the fire.
