Support Sevilla's Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer

Donation protected
I am creating this Gofundme on behalf my only brother and my sister in law. My sister in laws mom Sevilla has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in the Philippines. She is the nicest person ever and always so bubbly and happy. She is one of my mom's as well. She helped take care of my kids when I needed a babysitter and loved my kids like her own. She and her family are going through the hardest time. Please read below of her story.

*Support Sevilla in Her Battle Against Stage 4 Cancer*

It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news about our beloved mom who is courageously fighting stage 4 cancer.

Her ordeal began with severe back pain that soon spread to her groin, making it difficult for her to walk and do daily activities. Despite multiple consultations and physical therapy, the pain only grew worse.

As the pain became unbearable, she lost her appetite and experienced severe muscle weakness. Her blood pressure dropped to dangerously low levels, causing dizziness, and vertigo. Cardiologists noted an unusually high heart rate, urging further cardiac workup but she was homesick and wanted to go back to the Philippines.

Hoping to find some comfort with her family, she traveled back to the Philippines. Sadly, her condition continued to decline. She experienced significant pain during basic activities, swelling in her hands and feet and her blood counts were alarmingly low and had to get blood transfusions. She was seen by a urologist that prescribed her medication to help get her swelling down. She was feeling great, and her swelling was going down.

That night, she suffered a seizure and was rushed to the ER. Her blood sugar had dropped critically low, requiring another urgent blood transfusion. Over the next few days, she developed bumps on her neck and back, experienced vomiting, and became increasingly lethargic. She was diagnosed with pneumonia, low blood count, kidney disease, and multiple infections and was admitted to the ICU.

While in the hospital, her cardiology wanted a bone marrow biopsy to see if that could be causing her pain. The bone marrow biopsy revealed the devastating spread of cancer throughout her body. Now in the advanced stage 4, she requires constant blood and platelet transfusions every 2-3 days. In the Philippines, the family has to find blood and platelets and arrange transportation to the hospital. This has become a challenging day and critical part of her treatment, requiring orders from doctors.

In addition to her current battle with cancer, Sevilla has a history of atrial fibrillation (AFib), sleep apnea, diabetes and breast cancer, which complicates her treatment and adds to her suffering.

This journey has been emotionally and financially overwhelming. The Philippines health care wants the family to pay before treating so the family has been paying out of pocket for everything etc. cost of medications and even to linen usage. The cost of medical care, treatments, and daily expenses has become insurmountable, with medical bills alone costing over $25,000 US dollars and about 1 million Philippines pesos. All donations will go directly towards covering her medications, treatment and hospital bills.

We are reaching out in desperation, asking for your support and provide Sevilla with the care she so desperately needs. Your donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference for her to fight against this relentless disease. We also ask for your thoughts and prayers during this heart-wrenching time.

The hospital is doing further work up where the cancer is originating from. Debbie, her daughter has taken off work to go to the Philippines to help her mom and has been keeping us updated. We will continue to keep you all updated.

Thank you for your kindness and support.
