Support Seth Kurpiel’s Spinal Cord Injury Recovery
Donation protected
My brother, Seth Kurpiel, a married 45-year-old father of two young boys aged 12 and 15, suffered a catastrophic cervical spinal cord injury on April 6, 2025 while playing with his son on a local playground. Seth’s neck injury resulted in his inability to move his arms and legs; and initially he could not feel anything from the neck down. He currently has regained a degree of all body sensation with limited movement off his left fingers and toes.
Seth’s new reality means substantial out-of-pocket costs including home construction modifications for wheelchair accessibility, appropriate vehicle for transport as well as outsourcing day-to-day needs given Seth’s condition. Providing Morgan and Seth with the peace of mind to get help managing their household will be crucial in supporting Seth’s recovery and help Seth and his family focus on healing.
Since his injury, Seth has said on multiple occasions, “I am the luckiest guy in the world” referring to the support from his community, friends, family and medical team. Seth made strides in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit and as of April 24th he was transferred to a model spinal inpatient rehabilitation. Seth is working tirelessly with his therapists to recover neurological function and is learning how to navigate life without the use of his arms and legs. Seth’s determination is a source of inspiration as he faces this unimaginable challenge.
In addition to this GoFundMe, we’ve partnered with Help Hope Live, a non-profit (501c3) that fundraises specifically to cover costs of uninsured medical expenses. This organization received a 4 out of 4 stars rating from Charity Navigator, the respected website and guide to philanthropic decision making and was strongly recommended by the Christoper & Dana Reeves Foundation.
