My name is Seth Hansen. I am a middle-aged man trying to support his family during these hard economic and uncertain times.

Life, though, has been unusually difficult these last 12 years for me. While many fathers and husbands have been saving to support their children through post-education or planning for retirement with their spouse, I have been focusing on my health.

I have papillary thyroid carcinoma that has metastasized to my lymph system. Because of this diagnosis, I have had 3 major surgeries during this fight, 1 in my home state in Alaska and the last 2 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

All surgeries have been successful, allowing me to return to work within some weeks after recovery. This ensured I continued to be my family's protector and provider, giving them security while I fulfill my Godly command in the family arrangement.

I have future appointments this next year to follow up with my treating doctor at the Rochester Mayo Clinic for tests and possibly treatments. I am in need of monetary assistance for travel, lodging, transportation, meals and insurance co-pays.
