Support Service Dog Gigi's Recovery and Retraining Journey
Donation protected

Hello, my name is Grace, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help. My beloved service dog, Gigi, was brutally attacked during our regular morning walk by a pit bull that rushed out of an open gate. This horrifying incident has left Gigi unable to perform her life-saving duties, and she now faces a long road to recovery.
Gigi’s Role in My Life
Gigi isn’t just a pet; she’s my seizure alert service dog. Her job is to detect signs of distress and lay on me to manage seizures. She is my constant companion and protector, and her work has truly saved my life countless times. Now, because of this attack, she’s unable to do what she was trained for.
The Attack
On that morning, Gigi had no time to react as the dog charged straight at her. The attack was relentless. My other dog, Mochi, bravely tried to defend us, but both of them suffered serious injuries. After separating the attacking dog three times, it then turned on Mochi.
Both Gigi and Mochi were rushed to the vet. Gigi has a puncture wound, several lacerations, and a broken tail. Mochi, while not as severely injured, also required veterinary care.
Why We Need Your Help
Gigi now requires extensive medical treatment and possibly retraining to help her regain confidence and resume her duties as my service dog. The unexpected vet bills, combined with potential costs for retraining, are overwhelming.
Your support will help us cover:
Veterinary bills for Gigi and Mochi
Rehabilitation and possible retraining for Gigi
Ongoing care to ensure both dogs can heal properly
How You Can Help
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference in helping Gigi and Mochi recover. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, or community.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your kindness and support mean the world to us. Gigi has been there for me every day, and now I want to do everything I can to be there for her.
With gratitude,
Grace
