We never know when tragedy may strike, and for Serhii and his two sons, it happened on June 17th, 2025. They lost their beloved wife and mother Galina Sukhovilskaya, a bright, kind, and joyful woman whose presence lit up every room, and who had a knack for cooking. They were a family of 4 when they moved to the US from Ukraine, Marhanets (Dnepro Region) in 2019 to build a new life here. They went through many hardships and worked odd immigrant jobs to build their life here in the US, starting in North Dakota, and settling here in Champaign, IL.

Now, Serhii faces unimaginable grief while trying to hold his family together. As friends, we’re asking for your help. We want to raise funds to cover funeral expenses and to give Serhii and his sons a little breathing room before he can return to work. It will take time for him to get back on his feet and continue providing for the family. For now, they will rely on his older son’s salary for the current life expenses.
