Support Sergio’s Stroke Recovery

Hi, our names are Blanca and Brittany and we’re creating this GoFundMe to help pay for our dad, Sergio’s, medical and rehabilitation costs after suffering from a stroke.

Most of you who know my daddy know he is biggo bear. He’s a man who would give his last dollar to somebody, if needed. A man who would give the clothes off is back. He is a gentle giant that has so much to love to give to everyone around him. He is that one person who will have he whole room laughing with his jokes. A father like figure to family and friends. A master chef. My dad is someone you can depend on for anything and if he cannot do it then he will find somebody who can. He is the sweetest, kindest soul who loves his wife and daughters so much.

On September 20th after dinner my dad suffered a stroke and was rushed to the hospital via ambulance and then was transferred to Medical City Plano for more intensive care. 10 days later we are still in ICU as he receives the best medical care. Currently, God willing, we are looking at a long road to his recovery that includes trying to get him into rehabilitation center which will require many months of intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Due to the therapy needed at the rehabilitation center to regain functionality and coordination on the left side of his body, he will be unable to work in the near future.

With no medical insurance and so much ahead of us all funds raised will support my dad’s journey and help provide the safe, supportive, and attentive care that he needs to continue his fight forward. The stroke may have robbed him of his previous life but we will not let it rob him of his current life and the love of those around him.

My daddy is a prideful man and would never in a million years ever op to do something like this but we know this has the potential to help and optimize his road to recovery so on behalf of my dad and for my family we’re asking for help.

La gente que conoce a nuestro papa saben que el es en oso amoroso. Es un hombre que daría su último dollar para alguien que lo necesite. Un hombre que daría la ropa de su espalda para alguien mas. Nuestro padre es un gigante amoroso que tiene tanto amor para compartir con la gente alrededor de el. Es una persona que tiene todo el cuarto en risa y risa con sus chistesitos. El es una figura paterna para familiares y amigos. Nuestro padre es una persona en que la gente puede confiar, y si es algo que el no sabe te encuentra la persona que te lo puede hacer. El tiene el alma bien dulce y es tan amable y tiene tanto amor pa su esposa y sus hijas.

El 20 de septiembre después de la cena nuestro padre sufrió de un derrame cerebral. Le hablamos a la ambulancia y se lo llevaron al salon de emergencia, y después transportado a Plano para cuidados intencivos. Diez días después y todavía estamos en cuidados intensivos. En este momento, primero Dios, sabemos que vamos a tener un camino largo a su recuperación que incluye poder meterlo a un centro de rehabilitación para que pueda tener sus terapias físicas, de lenguaje, y ocupacionales. Por todas las terapias que va necesitar para recuperar la funcionalidad y la coordinación de su lado izquierdo, el no va poder trabajar.

Sin seguro médico y con tanto por delante, todos los fondos recaudados apoyarán la recuperación de mi papa y ayudarán a brindarle la atención segura, solidaria y atenta que necesita para continuar su lucha. Es posible que el derrame cerebral le haya robado su vida anterior, pero no permitiremos que le robe su vida actual.

Mi papá es un hombre orgulloso y nunca en un millón de años optaría por hacer algo como esto, pero sabemos que esto tiene el potencial de ayudar y optimizar su camino hacia la recuperación, así que en nombre de mi papá y de mi familia, estamos pidiendo ayuda.
