Howdy,
My name is Sergio Madrigal Pérez, and I am a first-generation Mexican American college student at Texas A&M School of Architecture. I am a self-provider, covering my own tuition, rent, food, and personal expenses, and balancing my work life with school often presents challenges.
Recently, I reached the 90+ credit milestone that makes me eligible for my Aggie Ring. I have already completed the sizing, and this achievement represents a tremendous milestone for me—not only as a student but as the first in my family to attend college.
Unfortunately, I am currently unable to afford the cost of the ring on my own. With no father figure in my life, my mother works at a Pre-K school to provide for my two younger brothers. I have taken on the responsibility of working and providing for myself so that I can continue my studies.
I am aware of the loan options that exist, but I’m exploring new options that would not add to my already high tuition loan balance. The Aggie Ring holds deep significance for me, and I am determined to do everything possible to make this milestone a reality.
Any guidance, support, or resources you could provide would mean so much to me. Thank you,
Sergio Madrigal ‘27
