My name is Sergio Emanuel Hayes, and I am a Peer Recovery Specialist, reentry advocate, and mentor. After serving nearly 25 years incarcerated, I’ve dedicated my life to helping others rebuild theirs.

I founded The Segue Initiative, a movement that bridges the gap for individuals returning to society. Through mentorship, emotional healing, employment readiness, and community support, The Segue Initiative reduces recidivism and helps people step fully into freedom and purpose.

I’m raising funds to officially launch The Segue Initiative and expand its outreach and services, so we can reach more people in need of guidance, stability, and hope. Every contribution builds pathways of healing and opportunity for those walking the hard road of reentry.
