Support Sergio Compete in IPF World Championships

Greetings to those who open this. My name is Sergio A. Lerma, a 19-year-old from the Rio Grande Valley. I am currently working full-time, going to school full-time, and working on various side jobs while pursuing my dream of competing at the highest level in powerlifting. I have been granted the opportunity to compete in Valleta, Malta for the IPF World Classic & Equipped Sub-Juniors & Junior Powerlifting Championships on August 30th, 2024.

Since September 2017, I’ve trained for this moment and now I’m able to display my craft in a little over a month. Almost 7 years of training has led me to my dream of competing against other elitists while representing the U.S.A. against the best Juniors in the 93kg weight class.

An important aspect to note is that Powerlifting is a self-funded sport. When factoring in entry fees, uniforms, flights, and hotel accommodations to participate in this opportunity, the total cost exceeds $4,000. This amount does not even include expenses for food and other miscellaneous items. While I am grateful for the support from my family, I have made the decision to seek additional assistance in order to alleviate some of the financial burden and allow me to fully concentrate on my training. I would greatly appreciate any help that you can provide to help me achieve my dream.
