Hope for Serena: A Life-Saving Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
This is hard to write, especially because I recognize times are hard for so many. I am swallowing my pride to reach out for support for my sweet daughter, Serena, who was born with Type 1 diabetes. After Serena and her husband experienced the devastating loss of their expectant baby, the toll on Serena's body catapulted her to Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease. Serena is on dialysis and needs a kidney transplant. The dialysis treatments have impacted her ability to work, causing both financial and emotional drain. God gifted Serena with an ability to bring joy and comfort to others. This is evidenced through her years working with neurodivergent adults and children.
Serena is transitioning to home dialysis, which requires specialized essential medical equipment in addition to ongoing medical treatments. As a family, we are doing all we can to support her; however, the mounting costs are overwhelming. Additional support will improve Serena's hope, health, and quality of life while on this journey.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation for any prayers, shares, support, and words of encouragement.
