Hello everyone my name is Serena and I am typing this as my mother has been on bed rest since August 23rd. On August 21st while I was in New York for a convention, my brother texted me informing me that my mom was sent to the hospital and that she broke her leg. Because I was not able to come home until Monday night, I had to sit stressing out for the remainder of the weekend. My brother and sister-in-law were able to help get some of my house in order and organize my mother's room for her preparation to come back home. As grateful as I was, it placed me in a financial strain as we both rely on both incomes for our household.

I had to ask my grandmother for some help to catch up with bills, rent, and pay for the first payment of school. But that was only a temporary help, and my mother is unable to go back to work until next month. She cannot be on the floor, but they are planning on working with her for positions at her job that has her sitting and resting while working.

This still makes it hard on me being the only one bringing income into the household as October approaches. I am still working hard with school and switching jobs soon, so the strain is still hard on me being the only provider in the household temporary. And I still need to make sure I am paying for school on top of our rent and bills. Any amount helps and it is strongly appreciated.
