SER LIVRE, Portuguese for "To Be Free," is a 3-part music video anthology, set to poetry and music by industrial post-punk artist UNBONED , directed by Lydia Ruth Conner, founder of Two Acre Films .
As Philadelphia-based independent artists, living in America as we approach the 250th birthday of our country, we felt driven and inspired to put our heads together and create the following work of art for the people, by the people.
Utilizing themes of the tarot to tell the story of death and rebirth under late-stage capitalism, this media composition offers reclamative power to the oppressed through visceral visuals and political satire.
YOUR SUPPORT takes care of our cast and crew for this 2-day filming excursion, covering day-rates and hospitality expenses, as well as prop, location, and post-production costs. Many talented artists and filmmakers have come out of the Philadelphia woodwork to make this vision come to life. This GoFundMe's intention is to create an equitable kick-back to support the humans who have committed their time and energy to make this work of timely, passionate protest art come to life.
This project is for the angry, the grieving, the ones desiring TO BE FREE. A passion project curated with values of play and autonomy, SER LIVRE is an opportunity to offer a space of raw liberation to ourselves and our communities through collective art. Your financial support is an action of using your voice, uplifting the efforts of a diverse collective of artists coming together to make the statement of SER LIVRE a possibility.
Thank you for putting your resources into action, supporting independent arts, and helping us deliver a message of awareness and hope for America's 250th birthday.
With care & creativity,
Lydia + Sofia
