Sequoia passed away in his home Sunday morning, June 2nd, 2024. He was found unresponsive by his girlfriend Megan in his bedroom when she called the medics. They tried to save him in time but it was unsuccessful - leaving his 8-month pregnant girlfriend with a baby on the way and many loved family members completely heart-broken and in grief. His case at this point is under investigation.
Sequoia was born on April 24th, 1997 to Sam Hoffman and Erica Garcia in Minneapolis, MN. Sequoia was a kind, respectful, charismatic soul who loved to create art, had an abundance of friends, and was passionate about skateboarding. He was very active and loved being outside on warm, sunny days. He loved spicy foods, ranging anywhere from a bag of spicy gas station chips to plain habanero peppers. No matter what life threw his way, Sequoia remained strong and would do anything to protect those that he loved. He had a big heart and a willingness to help others. Above all, he loved his girlfriend, Megan, and together they were excited to welcome their first child this coming July. He will be so sadly missed by his loving family and friends, and especially missed as partner to Megan and father to his unborn child.
Sequoia is loved by dad Sam Hoffman, Dora Yang, brother Charlie Hoffman, mother Erica Marie Garcia, brother Zowey D’Angelo Jenkins-Garcia, brother Justice James Morford-Garcia, sister Cintia Marie Morford-Garcia, sister Mercedes Nelson, Neice Athena Jenkins,
girlfriend Megan Schmidtknecht and their unborn child.
The family is in need of financial help to cover the costs of his funeral and to support Megan and their newborn baby. All of Sequoia's family and loved ones would greatly appreciate the support and donations to help them while grieving during this difficult time.
This family needs love, care and support. One of the major ways that you can be helpful is financially and taking care of their basic needs like making sure they have food, water, etc. If you have other ways you'd love to help out, we welcome that too!
Thank you in advance!
