Hello my name is Sequita, I am a single mother of two boys ages 17 and 11. 2 years ago I lost my mother after caring for her while she was suffered from dementia. 10 months later I moved to Texas from California hoping to give myself and my kids a fresh start after taking such a big loss. The transition was good but difficult as any big move would be. I was able to secure a car which gave me a job and I was able to afford a place for us. Recently I lost my car and since then everything has gone downhill. I was working as a gig driver for Uber, Lyft and DoorDash and since I have no car I now have no job. I have been seeking employment but the pay is different here and as a single mother I have some scheduling difficulties. Right now I am seeking help to cover the cost of rent, bills and food until I can find employment. If that is not possible then I would like to come up with the money to get us back to California where my family is so that we are not homeless in Texas. I truly appreciate every dollar given to me and my children right now. I have tried different programs out here and everything is full and not accepting applications so this is truly my last hope.
