Support Sephy in Damages From In-Home Water Leak

Hi all, Sephy Elizai is safe and okay! This is a family friend of his here to kindly but sadly report that Sephy has experienced a leak in his Seattle home on January 5th 2024. Due to heavy winter rains and previously unknown obstruction in the sewage system caused by tree roots, water blanketed the entire floor of Sephy’s home thus costing him all his furniture and several irreplaceable items.

A lot of his belongings have to go to the landfill due to water-damage and anything that is salvageable will have be disinfected due to sewage in the leak. This accident will cost Sephy several thousand dollars in damages, and will take resources, time and energy that are not readily available at this time. With your help, the money donated to this Gofundme will go towards new furnishings, a security deposit upon moving to a new home, a storage unit, travel expenses, and any and all further resources during this time of transition.

For 25 years, Sephy has taught in communities spanning from Israel, to Santa Cruz California, to Seattle Washington. Sephy has taught English, Spanish, Italian and also Jewish studies as a B’nei Mitzvah tutor and Hebrew instructor. As a student-turned family-friend of his myself, it is with no surprise to say we have all experienced the pearls of wisdom gifted to us by our beloved Sephy from all his teachings, generosity, care and attentiveness. He has touched the lives of thousands of students across his decades of service in the world of education, and it is with a helping-hand that I ask you to extend a small donation here, in his time of need.
