Support Sensei Andy Santos

Sensei Santos has no idea I’m doing this but I felt in this moment there was nothing that I would rather do then help someone who helped me so tremendously in my life. My name is Dale Weber, a real pain in the ass for Andy in my younger years… Sensei Santos taught me and guided me toward my goals locally, nationally, and internationally in Shotokan Karate. Sensei Santos was constantly smiling and taught me so many things about caring for other people. It is only appropriate that we show him the same love. Sensei Santos was constantly smiling and taught me so many things about caring for other people. It is only appropriate that as the ones he has touched show him the same love. Please consider helping in any way that you are able with the approaching procedure that Andy will be having tomorrow and surely many months to follow. If you don’t know Andy don’t be afraid to help a man who has positively impact THOUSANDS. (This is no exaggeration). I won’t speculate but I will share in Andy’s own words the situation as he’s already shared to friends and family. Those of you that know Andy know that he is a strong man and his optimism in this situation is truly inspiring:

“So this is happening.

I ended up at the ER yesterday at Edward Hospital in Naperville, 330pm.

My legs felt paralyzed, I couldn't walk (even on crutches. No balance, nor strength.)

After 10 hours of waiting, we finally got an MRI scan. If anyone's had an enclosed MRI before, you know when I say it's pretty unnerving. Terrifying even.

If you're not claustrophobic, you will be.

Forever thankful for my sister Rose Batiste for being with me every step of the way.

I can't thank you enough Rose, love you so much little sis

90 minutes later I get out, sweating but survived. In Japaneses culture, it's called Misogi, or a ritual purification.

You put yourself in an extremely challenging situation, or treat things like it, in order to meet your Higher Self on the other side.

Thus was one of those times that challenges your self-control and extrene irrational fears.

But, the easy part is over. Now...

Spinal surgery at 730am on 12/31 to repair severe stenosis of the spinal canal at T10 - T11, causing lower extremity motor function disruption.

I'm ready the hospital staff here at Edward is AMAZING. Every single one of them!
It's gonna be a fun ride. See you all on the other side.”

Thank you in advance for any help and pray for me for when Andy is well and able to kick my ass for setting this up.
