My friend and coworker, Euntaek, recently received some heartbreaking news. His sweet dog, Sensation, was diagnosed with mast cell cancer on her right toe, which was surgically removed earlier in November. Unfortunately, the wound didn’t heal properly after surgery, so she was taken back for further testing which included a biopsy. The biopsy revealed that the tumor on her paw had not been fully removed. Seeking a second opinion, she was then taken to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital, where they performed further tests. While the CT and ultrasound results came back normal, cancer was detected in her lymph nodes. The course of treatment is to have her lymph nodes removed followed by radiation therapy.

As you can imagine, this is a devastating time for Euntaek. But there is hope—if Sensation gets the treatment needed, there’s a chance for a full recovery.

The problem is, the treatment is expensive. We're looking at a total of $30,000 which covers radiation, surgery, medications, and ongoing care. That’s a lot to handle, so we’re asking for your help.

Sensation is a 7 year old full bred Husky. She lives on the Upper West Side in NYC and loves to be around people. When she isn’t with the best caretaker in the world, she is volunteering her time at New York Therapy Animals as part of a therapy dog team helping older adults in assisted living facilities, as well as in other healthcare and educational settings. Sensation also became an integral part of the FreshDirect family about a year ago bringing joy to the office and even getting a start to her modeling career!
