Support Selena's Stroke Recovery Journey
Donation protected
My sister Selena, freshly 19, had her whole life ahead of her. On October 30th, after a long day as a busy working student, she went to a hair appointment when she suddenly fainted. At first, we thought maybe she hadn’t eaten enough, but things quickly took a frightening turn. Selena started to lose feeling in her right arm and leg, her speech slurred, and her face began to droop. It was clear this was something far more serious.
Selena was rushed to the hospital, where doctors found that a blood clot was blocking blood flow to her brain. She was quickly transferred to a regional stroke center, where an incredible team made the decision to perform an emergency procedure to remove the clot. Thanks to their quick actions, the procedure was successful, but the journey isn’t over yet.
Now, Selena faces a long road to recovery, and her medical team is working tirelessly to understand why this happened to an otherwise healthy 19-year-old. We’re so thankful to live in a country where her medical care is covered, but there are still many unexpected expenses that come with her healing journey. My mom will be taking time off work to be by Selena’s side, and we’re doing everything we can to support her recovery.
If you’re able to help in any way – whether through a donation or sharing this page – it would mean the world to us. Every bit of kindness and support helps Selena as she fights her way back to health. Thank you so much for being part of her journey and for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.
