My name is Selena McCollum, and I am 21 years old. On November 13th, I was beaten almost to death by the father of my child (Aamonte Cheman Dantrel Rice). He came to my house unannounced, threw me to the ground, hit me in my face, and kicked me in my stomach and sides. He covered my mouth when I tried to scream and only stopped beating me when I acted like I couldn’t stand and was passing out. He did all of this while my son was upstairs.

When he went to the kitchen, while I acted unconscious, I took the opportunity to run out of the house. I ran up to one of my neighbor's cars and told them to call the police. Aamonte fled the house with my phone and threw it in the woods. If I didn’t act like I was unconscious, he would’ve killed me with my son in the same house. He hid from the police for over a day, and after he was found he was charged with 3 felonies and 4 misdemeanors.
