Support Selah's TESOL Mission to South Korea

Hey you! You probably already know my name, but my name is Selah Bacos for all formalities. I am so excited to announce that I am going on my very first international missions trip to South Korea! ☺️

On this trip…

I will be teaching English to South Korean students for 2 weeks at a camp where they will learn how to speak English more fluently for their academic future. The first week I would be teaching Elementary students, and the next week would be High School students. Most of the money goes to my plane ticket there and back. The rest will go to a host family that I will be staying with while I am teaching at the camp (this includes my meals and housing).

How is this related to missions?

Well, I am glad you asked! The camp does have a focus on teaching English, but the students are learning about God in this camp as well. There are sessions where students will increase their knowledge about God, and they will have memory verses to learn for each day.

Why do you want to go?

Another amazing question! This trip would be part of my TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) practicum. It’s basically to get a real world teaching experience in a foreign country. I am practicing all of the things I have learned so far from my TESOL minor in my education. It is my dream to travel the world and work with people in foreign countries, so this experience would really help me get my foot in the door!

The due date for the tickets are February 1, 2025, and I need at least $2,300 by then. I would appreciate any kind of donation you give me. It means so much to me that you read this far to be honest!
