Members of SEIU 1021 are striking at San Francisco Public Schools in solidarity with the United Educators of San Francisco. Our members—custodians, community school coordinators, cafeteria workers, school secretaries, and other classified workers — stand shoulder to shoulder with teachers and paraprofessionals, united in the fight for better schools. While we all share the same vision for our students, many SEIU 1021 members earn even less than the educators they support, making this strike especially challenging.

The funds raised through this campaign will go directly to SEIU 1021 members who are experiencing financial hardship as a result of the strike. Many of our members work only a few hours each day for modest wages, and missing even a single paycheck can mean choosing between paying bills or providing for their families. These funds will help cover lost wages and unexpected expenses, ensuring that no one is left behind during this critical moment.

We believe the future of SFUSD is being made today. Thousands of us are standing together to demand schools that our students deserve—where every adult has time to invest, where students and families are safe from ICE, and where students are nourished and supported. We speak with one voice, but we have not come to this moment with equal resources. Your support will help ensure that every SEIU 1021 member can continue to stand strong for our schools, our students, and our community.

This fundraiser is being organized by the leadership team of SEIU 1021 SFUSD Chapter. Josh Davidson is the Interim Chief Steward of the chapter, and will disburse the funds to members who apply for hardship support in cooperation with the Treasurer, Sherlyn Bura. Members who need support should message us to let us know.
