Hi, my name is Chelsea - I'm both a passionate aunt and environmental scientist. After a recent trip to the grocery store, where single-use plastics were everywhere, I realized that I wanted to do more to reduce plastic waste and help marine life, including sea turtles, some of which I learned are biofluorescent only a few weeks ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kmE7D5ulSA&feature=youtu.be

So, I decided that over the next year, I will make a concerted effort to reduce my own plastic consumption. In doing so, my goal is not to lay blame or point fingers, but rather to explore alternatives and raise awareness about the need for systematic change.

However, I recognize how challenging it can be to completely avoid plastic, so I decided to start a small fundraiser for SEE Turtles, a nonprofit that uses ecotourism, education, and local community involvement to (1) protect critical nesting beaches for turtle hatchlings, and (2) reduce plastic pollution in turtle habitats.

Please consider joining my effort to raise awareness about plastic waste and help turtles! Every dollar donated and plastic item avoided counts!
