Hello, my name is Sedona, and I’m reaching out in the hopes of raising money for my grandmother’s upcoming surgery. She is soon facing a crucial pelvic reconstruction procedure that will be performed by two surgeons—one from Willamette Cancer Center and one from Oregon Urology. They will work together to remove a 12 cm mass and perform a robotic-assisted LAVH BSO (removal of the ovaries, uterus, and fallopian tubes). This procedure will significantly improve her quality of life, and she has been anticipating it for a long time.
Last fall, she experienced a life-threatening emergency that required a life flight and immediate surgery. We thank God every day that she made it through that—her resilience and strength are beyond words. However, the financial impact from that emergency surgery has left my family with ongoing medical debt and immense pressure.
This upcoming reconstruction surgery is vital for her recovery and long-term health. She is one of the most incredible people I know, and I am so blessed to have her as my grandmother. She loves spending her time gardening and would probably do it every day if she could. She is often doing heavy lifting while maintaining things around the house, and my grandparents have a handful of pets and an aviary that she tends to daily. However, leading up to this surgery, her symptoms have greatly affected her quality of life and daily activities. This surgery is crucial, not only for her quality of life but for everything and everyone she cares for.
Due to the financial strain my grandparents are under, I am reaching out to our community for support to help cover the costs and ease the financial burden that has been weighing on them. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated and will directly help her get the care she needs to live a longer, more comfortable life.
