Support Sebastian's Goal of Top Surgery

Autumn 2023 brought with it one of the most meaningful realizations of my life. Thanks to a very dear friend, I experienced true gender euphoria for the first time. It was an awakening that set my foot on the path of self-discovery to find the man I was always meant to be.

Since that moment, I have dreamt of what it would feel like to truly be comfortable and safe in my own skin. I have resolved to find and fight for my authentic self. With my friends and family by my side, I am eager to take the next step in that journey.

If you know me, you know how difficult it is for me to ask for help. I have always struggled with the fear of being a burden. I was raised to be fiercely independent, after all. Thankfully, personal growth has taught me to appreciate and accept the support of others. This may be my journey, but I can’t do it alone. For me, the next step in that journey is top surgery.

As I prepare for my upcoming surgery, I’ve been met with excitement and trepidation. It is surreal to imagine such a large leap in my transition being so close at hand, and it is daunting to consider the financial obstacle that stands in my way. With this obstacle in mind, I ask my community and loved ones for help. I can’t reach my destination alone, but I know I have people in my life who are happy to help me along.

I’m calling on my community - on you - to help me navigate this life-changing experience. I hope to raise $3,200 to cover the costs of my procedure that won't be covered by insurance. This number has seemed too great an obstacle to me for some time. But I have already been overwhelmed by the love and support of my friends and family, and I know they are happy to help me with the burden as they are able.
