Hi, my name is Joshua Oppenheimer, and I’m raising funds on behalf of an incredible young man I’ve had the honor of mentoring — Sebastian Navarro.

Just a year ago, Sebastian wasn’t sure what direction his life was heading. He had dropped out of school and was struggling to see a path forward. But through determination, hard work, and some encouragement along the way, he made a remarkable turnaround.

Today, I’m proud to share that Sebastian not only returned to school but graduated with an impressive GPA, close to a 4.0. Even more inspiring he has earned a full scholarship to Merrimack College, where he’ll begin his freshman year this fall.

While tuition is covered, there are still many out-of-pocket costs that come with starting college: dorm essentials, school supplies, transportation, clothing, and everyday living expenses. These are things a scholarship doesn’t cover but a community can.

I believe that when someone shows this level of growth and commitment, we should do everything we can to support their momentum. Let’s help Sebastian walk onto that campus with confidence, knowing that he’s not doing this alone.
