From Fresno to the Alps: Help Me Bring My Oboe to Europe

 Hi! I’m Sebastian Bleu — an oboist, artist, and tarot reader based in New Orleans. I’m originally from Fresno, CA, and I’ve spent my life chasing a dream: to create music that moves people across cultures and borders.

This summer, that dream is becoming real.

I’ve been accepted into two international opera academies — one in Italy and one in Berlin — and I need your help to get there.

 ✨ Why This Is a Big Deal I studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and now I’m taking my artistry global.
 • In June, I’ll attend the Saluzzo Opera Academy, performing Italian opera in a 14th-century monastery in the Alps. (If I was ever going to play Puccini, it would be with frescoes and alpine breezes, right?)
 • In August, I head to the Berlin Opera Academy, one of the most respected programs in Europe for young professionals.

Each orchestra only accepts two oboists, so being selected is a huge honor and a reflection of the years I’ve poured into this craft.

These programs will give me elite training in operatic playing — learning to shape phrases under singers, support dramatic storytelling, and collaborate with world-class conductors and musicians. I’ll also build international connections that could shape my career for years to come.

 This isn’t a vacation — it’s a launchpad.

 While I’ve been hustling (tarot readings, art commissions, side gigs), two back-to-back programs across two countries adds up fast — and I don’t want to go broke or end up sleeping on a park bench in Berlin (…or start an OnlyFans. Kidding. Sort of.)
