Support Season and Her Kids Through Crisis
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Angie (Granados) Escobar, and like many of you reading this, I proudly graduated from West Chicago Community High School back in 1999 alongside our friend, Season Barclay-Saenz.
I'm reaching out to our Wego family and the wider community today with a heavy heart, asking for support for Season during an incredibly challenging time in her life. Recently, Season has been hit by a series of profoundly difficult and unforeseen circumstances that have created extreme hardship for her and her three children.
Life has thrown some truly unfair challenges her way, leaving her facing a genuine crisis. Through no fault of her own, she's navigating significant personal challenges and financial burdens that have become overwhelming. To give you an idea of the urgency, her family is currently without electricity because they simply couldn't cover the past-due bill – which is over $1,950 just to get the power restored. This means refrigerators full of food are spoiling, there's no way to do laundry, and nights are dark and incredibly stressful. On top of this, the gas is also at risk of being shut off, leaving them potentially without heat as well.
Season is a loving mom who is desperately trying to provide for her kids, and the thought of losing their home is becoming a terrifyingly real possibility. She's always been a strong person, and many of us know Season has a truly kind heart. In more fortunate times, she wouldn't hesitate to help someone in need, and I know that when she's back on her feet, she'd be the first to pay that kindness forward to anyone in our Wego community facing their own difficult times. We all face hardships at different points, and supporting each other is what community is about. But right now, the sheer weight of these recent events is more than anyone should have to bear alone.
Season was hesitant about me sharing her struggles – it's humbling and difficult to ask for help. But she knows she needs support right now, and frankly, this is an emergency. If you’re in the position to contribute even a small amount, it might be the only hope she has to get essential services turned back on and create a little breathing room to navigate this storm.
Let's show Season the strength and compassion of our Wildcat community. Any amount you can donate will go directly to helping her cover these urgent utility bills, keep food on the table, and work towards stabilizing her housing situation for her and her children. Even $5 or $10 makes a difference when we all come together.
If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your network. Let's rally around our classmate and show her she's not alone.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support for Season and her family during this critical time.
Warmly,
Angie Escobar Wego Class of 1999
