Hello friends,
Thank you for your support. We are Marion County Jeep Patrol, Inc.(MCJP), an all volunteer organization dedicated to Search and Rescue in Marion County, Oregon. You may better know us as Jeep Patrol or just Search and Rescue. We use our own 4x4 vehicles and provide all our own equipment. Our mission is to do what is needed “...so that others may live”.
We are a group of volunteers operating under an unfunded State mandate to provide the Marion County Sheriffs Office search and rescue expertise since 1965. Your support and donations help pay for our essential rescue equipment, training, 1st Aid/CPR and search and rescue certifications, SAR/Public safety outreach and education for lost prevention and outdoor recreation safety. We receive no Federal/State/County or Local government funding. All costs are out of our member's pockets. Every cent of your donation goes directly to supporting MCJP SAR operations.
You have seen articles in the press about us but you may not see us on search missions because we deploy in difficult and often challenging conditions, often at night. You will see us around the County helping at kids camps, public safety events, festivals, and Saturday markets.
We are on call every day throughout the year day or night for 20-30 operations / 1500-2000 volunteer hours annually.
We respond to: missing children, elderly family members who walk away suffering from dementia, overdue or distressed hikers / climbers / skiers / campers / hunters / bikers and motorists stranded in the back country. We also search for downed aircraft and evidence, deliver critical personnel during weather emergencies, and assist in emergency evacuations. As needed we support Meals on Wheels and deliver water and food during emergencies. When required we will pack out those that are injured. Our volunteers also perform the difficult task of recovering those who have succumbed to the environment.
Jeep Patrol depends on your donations. We are all volunteers. Jeep Patrol is a 501©)(3) not-for-profit corporation. We have no administrative costs. Your entire donation supports our efforts and your donation is tax deductible. If you can't make a donation now, please remember to keep us in your prayers when you hear we are out on a mission looking for someone's loved one. We need your support.
