Two years ago, I went in for a routine knee replacement, but my life changed overnight when I ended up needing an emergency triple bypass. While I recovered from heart surgery, I started experiencing severe dizziness and even passed out several times. After months of tests and hospital visits, I was diagnosed with autonomic dysfunction—a rare condition that affects my blood pressure, focus, vision, and more. Despite medication, I still struggle with daily symptoms and there’s no cure.
During this time, I finally had my knee replaced, but complications kept me in and out of the hospital. My knee remained swollen and painful, leading to a second surgery, and now I’m facing a possible third operation at Vanderbilt. The ongoing medical issues have made it impossible for me to return to work, and I’ve fallen behind on all my living expenses—rent, utilities, groceries, and transportation. My mom, who is 85, does what she can to help, but we live in rural Tennessee and resources are limited.
Insurance has covered most of my medical bills, but I still owe for some treatments, and the day-to-day costs keep piling up. Getting support through this fundraiser would ease my mind, help me pay overdue bills, and give me hope for the future, even as I continue to manage a condition with no cure. Any help would mean the world to me as I try to regain stability and focus on my health.
