Dear Community,

Perhaps you are here because you know and love my partner Sean—a sweet, kind-hearted human, parent, partner, friend, neighbor and family member.

Some of you know Sean through their passion for nutrition, or well enough to know the challenges they’ve faced so courageously in life. Others may be here because you know me and have heard my calls for support and prayers. And some of you may not know either of us but are here simply because you care.

Despite hardships, Sean’s beautiful heart has compassionately shown up for his family, friends and community with sweet attention, often masking his challenging health journey. He has also continued to work full-time and shows up as a parent and partner even with the little capacity he has for basic functioning on some days.

Sean’s years-long experience of chronic pain started getting worse in February of 2024. Since then, numerous different serious symptoms have arisen, some of which his team of specialists have been able to tie to a diagnosis, and some of which they have not yet.

In addition, Sean has been experiencing ongoing antibiotic-resistant infections, periods where his symptoms prevent any sleep at all, and for the past year, full-body pain of previously unimaginable depths and flavors. I have lost track of how many times the challenges have led to emergency room visits, and we are both, well...exhausted.

We have, however, found some hope! Through the guidance of his primary care physician Sean has been referred to a highly specialized medical treatment that can provide significant relief and help him to start to turn a corner. Unfortunately, it is not covered by insurance, and it is prohibitively expensive.

This is where we turn to you, dear community. We humbly ask for support raising the money to cover the costs of this life-changing treatment. Anything you can give is deeply appreciated, especially at a time when there is so much going on in the world, and so many important causes to support.

If you cannot give, perhaps you can help with transportation to appointments, food pick-ups/deliveries or spread the word to communities that may know either of us.
