Support Sean's Children After Tragic Loss

A Father’s Final Act of Love: Beloved Father, Community Member, and US Veteran Akalshah Bahaduri (Sean) passed away on August 29th, 2024. As a devoted father, he had been supporting his eldest son through mental health difficulties for some time. Each day after work, no matter how tired he may have been, he spent time with his eldest son, often taking him to exercise and practice wellness in order to relieve some of these difficulties. On August 29th, 2024, he had been doing just that when his eldest presumably lost all awareness of reality and his actions, and took the life of his father. Sean loved his children with every fiber of his being and would have laid down his life for any of them, and we can only assume that events beyond either of their understanding or awareness led to his tragic demise.

Born in Afghanistan, Sean's life was marked by resilience and determination. He tolerated a chaotic childhood as a refugee in Pakistan, overcoming poverty and hardship to complete his education and support his family. His remarkable journey led him to join the US forces as a cultural advisor and interpreter, earning him the title of US veteran. Despite receiving life-threatening warnings for his support of the US mission in Afghanistan, Shan courageously relocated to the USA in 2008. He worked tirelessly, facing numerous challenges as a newcomer, to make a difference in his community. His mission was to serve and empower others, particularly through his work at RAICES, a non profit refugee resettlement agency.

Sean's legacy gives us hope for a better tomorrow, compassion, and selflessness. He touched the lives of hundreds, helping those who couldn't read or write in their native language. Now, it's our turn to come together and support his family in their darkest hour. This fund will directly support Sean's children, ensuring their well-being, education, and future success. With their father's passing, the family faces significant financial uncertainty. Sean's newly purchased home, which still has a mortgage of over $200,000, was his dream for a secure future. As the sole breadwinner, his absence leaves a gaping hole. Your contributions will help alleviate the financial burden, allowing his children to continue their education and thrive in a stable environment. Let's come together to honor Shan's memory and secure his children's future.
