Help Sean Holzinger Fight Cancer: Support a Brave 17-Year-Old on His Journey
On December 26, 2025, our world changed. At just 17 years old, Sean was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia. Overnight, this kind, hardworking, and resilient teenager went from finishing up his stellar high school career, planning his college journey and hanging out with friends to preparing for a fight no young person should have to face. Just 5 days prior to his diagnosis, Sean was accepted at the University of Rhode Island.
In the days following his diagnosis, Sean had a port inserted and has begun in-hospital chemotherapy. He is expected to remain in the hospital for about a month to begin treatment under close medical supervision. After that, he will continue an intensive chemotherapy regimen for approximately two years. This will be a long road with many challenges, but Sean is determined to meet it with courage and strength—surrounded by the love of his family, friends, and community.
This GoFundMe has been created to help ease the financial strain on Sean and his family so they can focus on what matters most: his health and healing. Even with insurance, the costs are significant. Funds raised will help cover expenses such as hospital stays, medications, specialist appointments, transportation to and from treatments, reduced household income while caregivers are at the hospital, and unexpected costs that arise during long-term care. Your support will also help ensure Sean can maintain some sense of normalcy through school support, nutritious meals, and essentials during treatment.
Sean is more than his diagnosis. He is a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, a loyal friend, and an extremely bright student with big dreams for the future. During his high school career at Chariho, he has been a straight A student and is in the top 1% of his class. Sean is not only a hardworking and dedicated student, but loves sewing and fashion design, reading, music, and has many other artistic talents. In addition to school and his hobbies, Sean works at a local restaurant on the weekends where he is praised for his strong work ethic and positive attitude. He is loved by work staff and patrons alike. Sean brings warmth and humor to everyone around him and is so loved by all who are a part of his life. We want to see him back to doing what he loves, healthy and strong.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation—no amount is too small. Just as important, please share this page widely to help us reach others who may be able to help.
