Hey everyone, my name is Joey, and I’m Sean’s best friend. Most of you know Sean and the tough road he’s been on battling kidney disease. He’s been on dialysis, and it’s taken a huge toll on his life. He goes in for treatment three times a week for over five hours each time, and afterwards he’s completely wiped out. It’s been hard for him to keep up with day-to-day expenses since he’s unable to work.
Sean was diagnosed with kidney failure in February 2023, and ever since, it’s been an ongoing battle with the VA to receive the full disability benefits he deserves. Even after three years of fighting, they still haven’t approved him for 100% disability. He’s done everything he possibly can, but it’s just not enough. He’s now falling behind on bills and could really use some support—for groceries, gas, bills and other basic essentials.
Before all of this, Sean was one of the most active people I knew—always skateboarding, snowboarding, hiking, and hitting the gym. He proudly served four years in the Marine Corps and was exposed to burn pits during that time, which doctors believe led to his kidney failure. Dialysis has changed his life in so many ways. These days, he spends most of his time reading and walking his dog, Mia.
I’m trying to raise some funds to help ease the burden and give him a little breathing room. Any help, no matter how small, would mean the world. Thanks so much for taking the time to read and for supporting someone who’s given so much of himself to others.
