Hi everyone, we are raising money for my cousin, Sean. Sean is 25 years old and was recently diagnosed with gnathic osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer that is located in his maxilla sinus cavity. He and his fiancé, Christa, noticed sometime in July that his left cheek had some swelling, and he was starting to have pain. They originally thought it was dental-related. He then had a CT scan of the area, and it showed some sort of mass invading his sinus cavity. A biopsy of the mass was done in early September, confirming the mass to be cancerous. Thankfully, the cancer is localized and has not spread anywhere else in his body. Since beginning his first round of chemo, Sean has lost a significant amount of weight and has sores on his throat, making it difficult for him to eat and drink. He will be undergoing additional rounds of chemo and is scheduled to have surgery in November to remove the tumor.
Sean started a new job recently and, as a result, does not have medical insurance or paid leave for the time he’s spending in the hospital and will likely be recovering from this for the next 9-12 months. Even with health insurance, this is a huge financial burden for any 25-year-old to have to undertake. He recently got engaged to his high school sweetheart and should be focusing on building their life together, but instead, he’s faced with a huge financial burden and having to fight to get better. We want to make that fight a little easier for him and his family by helping to take away some of that financial burden.
Please consider donating any amount you can. I know from talking to my uncle that Sean is very worried about the medical debt he is already racking up, and we want him focused solely on getting better. Please also pray for his full and complete healing. Sean needs all the prayers he can get because he has a long road ahead of him
