On Tuesday March 28th, Sean suffered from a stroke while working in Brampton. He was quickly admitted to Trillium hospital in Mississauga where they removed a blood clot from his brain. Later that night Sean suffered from another stroke, where they went in for a second time to remove another clot from the same spot. After more CT scans, we have learnt another blockage has occurred that doctors feel is too unsafe to go in to remove again. After extensive scans and testing the neurologists believe he also experienced a ‘mini stroke’ prior to the first major one. These 3 strokes have left him paralyzed on the right side of his body…
Sean was kept in the ICU for 8 days until they felt he was stable enough to move to the stroke unit in Mississauga. Since his first major stroke, myself and family have been off work and commuting daily to support Sean. On Good Friday we got the news that Sean was stable enough to be transported back to KW closer to his support system and he is currently at Grand River, with talks of him being moved to Freeport in the near future to begin his rehabilitation. They have not found the root cause of why this has happened to Sean at such a young age, but are doing everything they can to give us answers.
We have quickly learnt that in order to be able to bring Sean home after his rehabilitation, renovations and modifications are going to need to be done to our home to make it accessible for Sean. Along with a lot of missed time from work while Sean heals, and so I can be there to support him through inpatient and outpatient recovery. He has a very long journey a head of him, but with lots of therapy and support from friends and family the doctors are optimistic he will regain some mobility.
Everyone who knows Sean knows the way his smile can light up a room, and how contagious his laugh is. He has the biggest heart and accepts everyone who enters his life with open arms and an ice cold beer. He somehow finds a way to find the light in every dark situation. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions the past couple weeks, but he has managed to crack a smile each day.
This go fund me would be to help cover renovations, expenses, and bills along the way during Sean’s recovery, and while we adjust to our new way of life. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. Please continue to send Sean love, support, and prayers while we work hard to bring him home and help him heal.
With love and gratitude,
Molly xo
