Many people first came to know the Brown family through updates shared during an unimaginable chapter of their lives. In 2012, while Sean Brown was deployed in Afghanistan, his wife Heather suffered a brain aneurysm at 34 weeks pregnant. Their son, John, was delivered by emergency C-section, and Heather remained in a coma for the next 14 years. Now, after all those years of prayer, hope, and steadfast love from so many, Heather has passed away. Her services will be held this coming Saturday. Sean is not only grieving the loss of his wife, but also walking through this painful season while supporting John, who has grown from the tiny baby so many prayed for into a remarkable young man with his whole future ahead of him.
Charity is creating this fundraiser for Sean, a longtime friend, and for his son John, with Sean’s blessing. Funds raised will first help cover Heather’s final expenses and outstanding medical bills. Any remaining funds will help Sean provide for John’s current and future needs, including education, vocational or technical training, camps, extracurricular activities, health and well-being, and other needs or opportunities as they arise. Sean will receive the funds directly and oversee their use based on John’s needs and interests as he grows. For the many people who have followed, prayed for, and loved this family over the last 14 years, this is a chance to stand with Sean and John in a tangible way during this heartbreaking loss and the new season ahead.
