Sean and I have worked together as servers for the past ten years, and in that time, I’ve come to know him as one of the most hardworking, responsible, and kind people I’ve ever met. He’s quiet, soft-spoken, and always willing to help others, never wanting to inconvenience anyone or ask for help himself. That’s why I’m reaching out on his behalf now—because he truly needs our support.
Recently, Sean’s life was turned upside down in a way no one could have imagined. In broad daylight, at 3pm, he was brutally attacked, beaten, and robbed by three men at the entrance to Publix grocery store. The injuries he sustained are severe: a brain bleed, a broken eye socket that required surgery, multiple broken ribs, a shoulder broken in three places, a broken nose, and a concussion. He is currently in the ICU, facing a long and uncertain road to recovery. As a server, Sean doesn’t have paid time off or any income while he’s unable to work. He is single, has no siblings, and both of his parents have passed away, leaving him with no support system. To make matters worse, he does not have insurance, and the medical bills are already piling up.
The money raised here will go directly toward paying Sean’s rent, covering his essential monthly bills, and helping with his mounting medical expenses. Simply going to the store to buy a Gatorade before work changed his whole life, and we still don’t know what long-term effects he might face. I ask that you remember that random acts of violence can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. If we can ease Sean’s pain in the present by taking away some of the financial stress, let’s come together and bless him with whatever we can afford. Your donation, your share, or even your kind thoughts can make a world of difference for Sean right now. Thank you for showing kindness in the face of such a horrible event.
