My name is Ari Silberman and i am a representative of Sea Turtle Rescue. We operate our turtle rescue at Jiquillio Beach in Nicaragua. Our rescue started in 2008 and since then we have released over 150,000 baby turtles. We rescue both endangered Olive Ridleys and majestic and colorful endangered Hawksbill Turtles. Jiquillio is a prime nesting beach where female turtles come every year to lay their eggs. There are so many poachers that all the turtle eggs would be stolen and sold in town as a delicacy for profit without these efforts. These funds go toward paying locals to walk the beaches and search for nesting females and toward buying the eggs from poachers consequently turning them into agents of the project. Locals depend on this project for an income through which they can create a value in their community. Thank you for your donations!
