UPDATE: On 3/27/26, a Presidential Memorandum was issued that directs the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to start paying TSA workers using already appropriated federal funding. We expect TSA workers to start receiving pay on 3/30/26. To that end, we have suspended fundraising. Thank you to everyone who donated...your support made a huge difference!

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) relies on our partners at the U.S. Transportation Security Administration to operate security screening checkpoints for departing travelers.

Unfortunately - due to an impasse in Washington, DC - TSA agents are coming to work without pay. On Friday, March 27, they will miss their second full paycheck in a row, which makes it hard for them to afford to feed themselves and their families, purchase gas to get to work, and pay for other daily expenses.

SEA is accepting funds to support our TSA workers through this account managed by the Port of Seattle. Funds will be used to buy non-perishable food, household goods, hygiene products and gas cards. Please note that TSA may use some of the gas cards to support other TSA agents in Washington state, such as at airports like Paine Field, Bellingham and Spokane, but all funds will remain within the Washington airport system.

Please note that - under federal ethics rules - TSA workers can accept donations until Congress appropriates funding AND they actual receive pay, which is usually a week or two after the end of the government shutdown. Any remaining food and household items will be donated to the Des Moines Food Bank, which is a long-time SEA partner.
