Support scouting family go to World Scout Jamboree Poland

Update: thank you to those donating offline . Meanwhile , Aoibheann is continuing support scouting events by 'staffing' learning camps such as Ardan, and Eoghan & Saoirse attend carboot sales, raising money for 4 jamboree attendees!

Aoibheann (16) Eoghan (14) Saoirse (12) have all been accepted on the Irish contingency to the World Scouting Jamboree in Poland in 2027. This will be an amazing experience for them all but the cost is not cheap, and this is because Ireland is seen as a wealthy country and as per the World Scouting Organisation, more well off countries contingents financially support the less well off countries, to enable scouts from ALL over the world to attend.

World Jamborees are every 4 years and only available to scout age (14-17 year olds) As Aoibheann is then be 18 she is paying 3000 euro to attend as International Support Team Staff. She will be working at the event through out. While Eoghan and Saoirse will be 16 and 14 so they will be youth members.

They will have an amazing 10 days in Poland having opportunities to mix among 40,000 scouts from all over the world, but also there will be community projects throughout where they can 'Give back' to the community etc.

This is a life changing trip and we are so honoured to have them going but as mentioned it is costing €3000 per participant, so in McGivneys that is €9,000. The three are very determined to generate as much as they can themselves, and have put all birthday money, money they have earned with odd jobs and Carboot sales towards the costs but this is to give them a bit of support, it would be nice for them not to have to give up ever single penny they have for the trip.

In their community already they are doing odd jobs, babysitting, supporting neighbours with turf, collecting bottles on the return scheme, and hope to do christmas markets etc too.

Usually they are trying to support other people (and are still with the contribution to less well off countries), They have had fundraisers in past for all sorts of causes to support there community but now they need a little support to fulfil a scouting dream!
