Support Scott's Rehab After Stroke
Donation protected
Hi all. I’m Jennifer, Scott’s wife. As many of you know, Scott suffered a stroke a little over 2 weeks ago. He has no use of his right arm whatsoever, he cannot walk, and he has mild right facial sagging and severe slurred speech. Some of these will get better, and others may be permanent. He had no insurance, and they actually tried sending him home 4 days later to the hotel for me to take care of. I am permanently disabled, so this was not a viable option. That night, he went back to the hospital and has been there ever since. He needs to go to a rehab facility. These places cost upward of $300-$1000 per day. I was able to secure him insurance, and it will kick in June 1, but we are going to have some really expensive medical bills even with what the insurance will cover. As many of you know, we fell on hard times late last year and became homeless. Then, as if that weren’t enough, Scott lost his job right before Christmas. We were living in our van until his unemployment came in, and we were able to move into a hotel. Scott was also delivering for DoorDash, giving us a small amount of breathing room. Now that he’s not working, and our rent went up, we are now living in our van again. He cannot come home to a van even after rehab. He/we need your help. He’s probably never going to be 100%, and permanent disability will probably be his only option after all is said and done. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
