In February, my brother Scott, suffered a stroke at work, not realizing that he had contracted a serious bacterial infection. When he was admitted to Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, doctors discovered the extent of the infection and the significant damage it had done to his heart. Scott was told he had endocarditis and would need surgery to replace the mitral valve and repair the pulmonary return valve. During his initial hospital stay, he was put on IV antibiotics and sent home to recover from the infection before surgery could be scheduled. On April 21st, Scott underwent open heart surgery.
Since February, Scott has been unable to work and his savings are gone. As his sister, I am organizing and managing this fundraiser on Scott's behalf out of love for my brother and because it’s the right thing to do. Scott sought the Lord’s grace and protection to get through his surgery. He has humbly asked for my help, and now I am reaching out to friends, family, and anyone who feels moved, to help support him financially over the next six months with the mortgage, car payment, and groceries. Physical therapy in Muncie is multiple times per week for 3-6 months. Also, Scott's diabetes is slowing the recovery, which should take 5-6 months if all goes well and we pray that it does. Please consider helping to cover some of his everyday expenses so he can stay focused on healing. Please ask either Scott or myself if you have any questions and thank you very much for your consideration.
