Help Support Scott’s Kidney Transplant Journey
Our dad, Scott, is one of the strongest, most hardworking people you could ever meet. For decades, he built his life through his business, craftsmanship & commitment to excellence. But over the past few years, a cascade of health challenges, including kidney failure and cancer, has forced him to step away from the work he loves.
Since early 2022, Scott has navigated an intense medical journey:
- Acute kidney injury leading to near-total kidney failure
- Multiple hospitalizations and periods of stabilization
- Nearly two years of using every tool possible — western medicine, natural therapies, and dialysis — to stay strong
- Prostate cancer surgery in 2024 (thankfully successful!)
- Ongoing home dialysis treatments, with his ever-faithful kitties by his side
Now, after years of perseverance, hope, and ups & downs, Scott has been officially approved for a kidney transplant — and a living donor match has been found!
His transplant surgery is scheduled for June 17, 2025, at Sanford Health in Fargo.
Earlier in this journey, we were incredibly grateful to receive support through a Lend A Hand Up fundraiser. That campaign has now ended after its six-month window, and we’ve created this GoFundMe to continue offering a space for ongoing support as Scott moves into the critical surgery and recovery phase.
While we are overjoyed and full of hope, the reality is that transplant and recovery come with significant financial strain — from medical expenses not fully covered by insurance, to the loss of income during recovery.
How Your Support Helps:
- Medical costs and expenses not covered by insurance
- Lost wages during recovery for both Scott and his support team
- Medications, supplies, and aftercare needs to support a strong recovery
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference.
Sharing this page or sending a prayer, a kind word, or a good thought is equally as powerful and appreciated as monetary donations.
Scott has shown up with everything he has at every step of this journey. Now, we’re honored to show up for him.
We’ll be posting updates here and on Scott’s CaringBridge site as the transplant journey unfolds.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with us.
With love and gratitude,
