Support Scott's Journey to Confidence and Health

My name is Penny Bourque and I’m raising funds to help my son Scott pay for dentures.

In October 2019, my son Scott was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. We are not sure how long he had diabetes prior to being diagnosed.

Fast forward a few years later, and so much damage has been done to the bones under his gums that it loosened all his teeth, causing tremendous pain.

With insurance and savings, he had most of the extraction costs and denture costs covered, but then a couple of months ago, he lost his job. He was halfway through tooth removal at that time.

As you can imagine, finding a new job as a CNA has been difficult with just half a mouth of teeth (and those loose and ragged). He’s made it to the third step (in-person interview) but has not gotten hired.

The tooth removal was completed yesterday, but now he is a bit short on getting the dentures. He’s had to dig into his savings to pay for his insulin (his case is a difficult one, and he needs a certain type of insulin which unfortunately costs a lot).

His dad and I are helping as much as we can, but we are in the middle of a big move, and there’s only so much we can do.

Any little bit will help him to get his dentures and, along with it, get his confidence back, along with hopefully a job in the field he loves so much.
