Hello family, friends, Scouters, and Archers. About three years ago, I was diagnosed with liver illness. At that time, I was having a procedure called paracentesis once a week in which 4 to 5 liters of fluid would be drained from my abdomen. About 2 1/2 years ago, I received a procedure with the acronym called T.I.P.S. This is where a shunt is surgically placed to bypass my liver. It has worked marvelously, and I have not had to undergo any more paracentesis procedures. My G.I. doctor told me this was only a temporary solution from needing a liver replacement eventually. I have now been diagnosed with Final Stage Liver Failure.
I have been receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic, moving towards my final goal for a successful transplant. As of January 28th, I have been approved by the referral committee.
After all is complete, Shannon will need to figure out a solution to the numerous hospital visits, ambulance rides, and the healthcare deductibles. We are asking for about $50.00 or more per gift, which will be a great help in lowering one more stressor.
We thank you for your consideration.
Scott, Shannon, and Rin Bartholomew
