My name is Jared Goins and I am creating this GoFundMe to help with medical expenses for my uncle Scott due to his extended stay in the hospital. My uncle is the type of guy who will always take care of others before himself and has been a great role model/mentor to me and countless others. Any donations and prayers would be greatly appreciated by his wife, children, and grandkids.

Scott checked into Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO, on March 25. He was scheduled for open-heart surgery, mitral valve replacement with double bypass on March 27. He had some setbacks with kidney issues, blood pressure, and was put on dialysis to help with his kidney function. Scott then contracted a fungal infection and went back to surgery to clean out the infection, fluid, and a few blood clots in his chest on May 6 and again on May 8. Scott is set to go back to surgery on Monday, May 12, to have chest closure and muscle reconstruction done by a plastic surgeon.
