Support Scott’s Fight for Recovery
We urgently request your support for our dear brother Scott, who recently suffered a hemorrhagic stroke (brain bleed) that has dramatically altered his life. Scott has always been a kindhearted soul and hard worker, who has always helped friends, family and strangers in need. Scott now needs us as he faces the toughest journey of his life, and we need your help to give him every chance at recovery.
Scott’s Story:
While getting ready for work one morning, Scott, who has always been healthy, developed what he thought was a horrible “migraine-like” headache. It instantly brought him to his knees, made him violently ill and rendered him unconscious for over 6 hours. Only by the Grace of God was he somehow able to come to, get up, get dressed, walk down 2 flights of stairs, locate his phone and call his best friend for help and a ride to the hospital. Although he walked into the hospital on his own two feet, that would be the last time he did. They immediately determined the brain bleed, and he was airlifted to a critical care facility where he was admitted to the ICU back on May 2nd. This incident left Scott intubated/sedated for over 4 weeks in critical condition fighting for his life and his future.
About Scott:
Scott is not just a survivor but a force of nature. He is a gentle soul with a big heart covered up by and exterior that reminds you of a grizzly bear. He is an amazing and loving father to two beautiful children who desperately need him to continue to be a consistent and loving caregiver in their lives. He is a Master HVAC Mechanic (Member of Local 420 and 322) who is always available to his coworkers as a leader and educator. He lives by the standards …of helping a brother in need and always doing what’s right. He has an incredible sense of dry humor and will cut up with anyone willing to laugh at his jokes.
Updates:
Scott has defied all odds and is being discharged to an Acute Care Rehab Hospital! His personality is intact, and he keeps us laughing. He does tire easily but that is expected as he has been through the fight of his life. This next stage is where he will face the hardest part of his recovery… both mentally and physically. He has shown great promise of recovery with the Doctors and hospital staff, they are amazed with his progress and we have no doubt he will do the same thing here at Rehab.
Urgent Need for Support:
• Immediate Medical Expenses
• Rehabilitation Costs
• Medical Transport
• Relocation Costs
For those of you who are faithful, make no mistake…. We have witnessed the MIRACLE of Scott’s healing firsthand. For it was GOD who carried Scott through this and back from the edge of death…these last few weeks. He has blessed him with the kindness and intelligence of the medical staff, the love of his family and his friends who have pitched into help…in so many ways. We know God has plans for Scott and we intend to see this though. We do also ask for continued prayers as we need them daily.
