Our family is going through one of the hardest seasons we have ever faced, and we are humbly asking for help.

A few months ago, my husband Scott began experiencing numbness and tingling in his feet. At first, we thought it was something minor, but his symptoms quickly worsened. The numbness spread up his legs, he began struggling to walk, and eventually his hands and arms became affected as well.

After multiple doctor visits and an initial misdiagnosis, I took him to the ER at UT Tyler on April 18. He was admitted immediately, and after extensive testing — including a lumbar puncture — Scott was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune neurological disease called Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP). CIDP causes the immune system to attack the nerves, leading to weakness, loss of reflexes, mobility issues, and potentially permanent nerve damage.

Scott underwent aggressive IVIG infusion treatments during an 8-day hospital stay. While the treatments helped initially, he also suffered serious complications, including an allergic reaction and aseptic meningitis. Since then, recovery has been slow and unpredictable.

His neurologist confirmed that although there was improvement at first, Scott has now entered a relapse phase. His weakness has returned and is already affecting his legs significantly again. He currently has no reflex response in his arms or legs and remains unable to work safely.

Scott now requires ongoing IVIG infusions every 4 weeks, specialist care, medications, and physical therapy. Even after insurance, physical therapy alone is expected to cost around $250 per week, not including travel expenses. We are also still waiting to learn what the out-of-pocket costs for his treatments will be.

Unfortunately, Scott’s job does not offer light duty, and he cannot return until fully cleared by his neurologist. At the same time, we have faced constant delays and confusion with short-term disability approval, leaving us without reliable income while medical bills and everyday expenses continue piling up.

I have gone back to work as a waitress and am actively searching for a second job, but despite our efforts, we are struggling to keep up with basic necessities while navigating nonstop doctor's appointments, insurance calls, paperwork, and treatments.

We are believing God will carry us through this storm, but right now we truly need help.

If you are able to donate, no matter how small the amount, it will go directly toward:
• Medical treatments and specialist visits
• Physical therapy and medications
• Travel expenses for appointments and infusions
• Utilities, groceries, and household bills while Scott is unable to work

If you cannot donate, we completely understand — but prayers, shares, and words of encouragement mean more to us than we can express.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story, pray for our family, and support us during this incredibly difficult journey.
